Lacewing 12

This is the 12 fret join version of the Lacewing which gives this model a different geometry and thus a different tonal emphasis to it’s relative. The upper bout is longer than the 14 fret and the bridge more central in the lower bout which gives a slightly richer bass and low mids but still with the more penetrating treble you would expect from a guitar of this size. The scale length is slightly shorter at 640mm which gives a marginally softer feel but to be honest the feel depends also on the woods used. Again, a guitar to suit fingerstyles and dropped tunings and slightly more so than the Lacewing 14 due to the boosted low end. Can be built with the more traditional slot head or solid head. This is a good crossover model for classical players who want to venture into the steel string world!

Please note that different tone wood combinations will affect the response and tonal characterisics of the instrument within the framework of my build style. I will of course always advise in this area.
