I have been making instruments since 1998 inspired by a facination with the construction of my own (second hand) hand made instrument by a luthier named Jonathon Weir and tapping into my love of highly skilled and detailed work.

I completed my first guitar with well known Spanish guitar maker Stephen Hill. This was the ideal training as I was immersed in a professional atmoshere and quickly learned the ropes of running a small crafts business and producing high quality instruments. Since then I rented a bench in his busy workshop and worked with Stephen as a repairer/restorer whilst developing my own instruments. I went full time in 2003 and after a six month break from making whilst in South America, took on my own workshop in Lewes.

I have also been an active musician playing with two bands and have gigged all over the U.K, in Ireland, mainland Europe and the U.S. (I am currently keeping my musical activities more local as I am so busy in the workshop!). I am a director of Lewes Guitar Fesival and part of a thriving instrument making community.
