Notes The Octave Mandola utilises the same body as for the Bouzouki but has a shorter scale and thus shorter neck. It also commonly has three wound string courses and one (the E) unwound. The shorter scale makes it more finger friendly for melody but it still has great driving rhythm qualities. I have developed this guitar bridged version of the Octave Mandola to have a a big bass and chiming trebles with the headroom to push to a volume loud enough to compete with fiddles etc. It also produces a harmonically rich tone that adds interest and character without losing clarity and separation. I am no longer making floating bridge flat top bouzoukis as part of my standard range.
Please note that different choices of tonewood will change the tonal characterisics of the instrument. The above description is only a guideline. Please contact me for more detailed information.
