Notes
Mandolas or Tenor mandolas are
commonly tuned CGDA (a mandolin with the
top course missing and with a lower course
added) and thus 'sit in between' the mandolin
and octave mandola in all aspects - scale,
size and tone. They have the cut to be an
out and out melody instrument like the mandolin
but also have some of the sustain of an
octave mandola rendering them extremely enjoyable
instruments to play.
Please note that different choices of tonewood will change the tonal characterisics of the instrument. The above description is only a guideline. Please contact me for more detailed information. |
